Tidy Coop Agents
If you earned $600 or more in 2022 on the Tidy Coop platform, you’ll receive a 1099-NEC form via our partner Stripe. Click here to visit the Stripe Support article of FAQ section below.
Important to keep in mind:
Eligible Tidy Coop agents will receive a Stripe invite by the end of 2022 via email to confirm their account information. If you currently get paid by Tidy Coop you have an active Stripe Express Account.
If you received a Stripe email asking you to confirm your TIN (Tax Identification Number) in order to keep your account active, please use the unique link sent to you. This information is not to create a Stripe account, this information is used to ensure we have the correct TIN number for every Dasher on the platform. This email was only sent to certain Tidy Coop agents so if you did not receive one, that means we have your information and no action is needed.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What is a 1099-NEC tax form? A: 1099-NEC forms are federal income tax information forms used to report earnings and proceeds other than wages, salaries and tips (which are reported on the federal W-2 form). The forms are filed with the U.S. Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and, if required, state tax departments. A 1099-NEC form summarizes Dashers' earnings as independent contractors in the US. It’s provided to you and the IRS, as well as some US states, if you earn $600 or more in 2022. If you're a Tidy Coop agent, you’ll need this form to file your taxes.
Q: What tax forms will be sent? A: The only tax form that eligible Tidy Coop agents will receive is the 1099-NEC, and this is ONLY for Tidy Coop agents who earn $600 or more on the platform in 2022. Tidy Coop agents who earn less will NOT receive a 1099 form. Q: How will tax forms be delivered? A: If you earn $600 or more, you will receive an email invitation by end of 2022 (the subject of the email is Action required to receive your Tidy Coop agents 2022 tax form) from Stripe to set up a Stripe Express account (if you do not receive the email invitation but earned or expect to earn $600 or more in 2022 on DoorDash, click here). Q: How can I check my mileage for tax deduction purposes? A: As an independent contractor, managing your own business and expenses can be tough. Your business-related mileage can be a significant expense, so if you know how many miles you drove, you may be able to reduce the amount you owe for taxes (or increase your refund). See here for an IRS publication on Standard Mileage Rates at a Glance.
U.S. Tidy Coop agents - To keep track of your total mileage and maximize your business-related deductions on your 2022 tax return, we recommend using mileage tracking apps like Everlance.
U.S. Dashers not eligible for a 1099-NEC- Since you have earned less than $600 dashing in 2022 you will not receive a 1099 form from DoorDash. Keep in mind that Tidy Coop cannot provide you tax advice. If you have any questions about your own taxes and what business-related expenses may be deductible please consult a tax professional. Q: How do I update my tax information? A: Tidy Coop agents will start receiving email invitations from Stripe starting October 31, 2022 through the end of the year. Once you receive the invite, open the email from Stripe and click on the “Verify Information” button, which will prompt you to create a Stripe Express account. After you create an account, you’ll be able to review your tax information.
Q: How can I download my 1099 tax form? A: Once you receive the email invitation from Stripe, open the invite email and click on the “Verify Information” button, which will prompt you to create a Stripe Express account. If you create a Stripe Express account and consent to e-delivery (fastest delivery method), Stripe will email you to let you know when your 1099 tax form was available for download via Stripe Express. If you don’t select e-delivery, Stripe will mail you a paper copy of your 1099 tax form instead. Q: I did not receive the invitation email from Stripe. A: If you do not receive an invitation from Stripe but believe you should have received one based on your 2022 earnings, please check the following:
Check your spam and deleted folders. The subject of the email is Action required to receive your Tidy Coop 2022 tax form.
Confirm whether you earned $600 or more on Tidy Coop in 2022. If you earned less than that, you will not receive a 1099 form nor the Stripe invitation.
Wait until early January 2023. Email invitations will be sent out in waves to Tidy Coop agents starting October 31, 2022.
Important: If you confirmed all of the above, please contact support.stripe.com/express from the email account associated with your Tidy Coop account.
Q: How do I get in touch with Stripe or Tidy Coop for more help?
A: We recommend looking through the 1099 tax forms resource pages. If you still need help, please contact Stripe support. To contact Tidy Coop support, email rooster@tidycoop.com
Q: How do I login to my Stripe Express account?
A: Please note that in order to log into your Stripe Express account, you would have had to accept the Stripe Express invitation that will be sent to you via email. If you are having issues logging in after creating an account, please click here.

Which email address does Stripe use to send Stripe Express invitations?
Stripe uses the email information associated with your [insert platform name] account to send you an invitation to sign up for Stripe Express. If you haven’t received that email, contact Stripe Support.
Why haven’t I received a Stripe Express invitation?
Check your spam or junk mail folder in case your invitation landed there.
You might not receive an invitation if [insert platform name] doesn’t have your most current email address on file. You need to either update the email address on your account or check your other email addresses for an invitation.
You may not have received an invitation for other reasons, such as:
You earned less than the threshold for your form type.
Your email address on file is incorrect, missing, or unable to receive email.
Your specific account is unsupported on Stripe Express (in uncommon situations where multiple users are sharing the same account, or the same email address is being used on more than 20 accounts)
Will I receive a 1099 form?
If you earned less than 600 USD over the course of the year, you might not receive a 1099 form and one won’t be generated for you unless you meet a threshold in your state. If your state has a filing threshold lower than 600 USD, you might receive a 1099 form.
You can check your state’s requirements here: View 1099 state requirements.

[Platform_Name] will file your 1099 tax form with the IRS and relevant state tax authorities.
April 15, 2023: IRS deadline to file taxes. You’ll need your 1099 tax form to file your taxes.
In January, we strongly suggest that you ensure all of your tax filing details and delivery preferences are up to date in Stripe Express. Your name, address and Taxpayer Identification Number (Social Security Number /Employer Identification Number) are of primary importance.
Why is Stripe requesting personal information like my Social Security Number?
Your Social Security Number is required to get your 1099 tax form properly filed with the IRS.
If you have earned enough to qualify for a 1099 tax form, the IRS requires your full details to be verified ahead of 1099 filing.
We understand you may have concerns about providing your full Social Security Number/Employer Identification Number when first claiming your account, given the sensitivity of this identifier. We take your privacy seriously and have enabled technical solutions to ensure that your personal information is secure.
How will I know when my 1099 tax form is available?
If you opted in to e-delivery, Stripe will send an email notification about the availability of your 1099 tax form to the email associated with your Stripe Express account.
How will I receive my 1099 tax form?
After you log in to your Stripe Express account, you will be able to consent to e-delivery of your 1099 tax forms. If you do not consent to e-delivery, you will not be able to view or download your 1099 tax forms in the Stripe Express Tax forms page. If you opted in to e-delivery, your 1099 tax form will be delivered electronically near the end of January.
If you would like to receive a paper copy of your 1099 form, please reach out to your platform for assistance.

We understand the numbers on your form might be a bit confusing. Those numbers might represent your net take home pay, include Stripe fees, or represent total gross volume.
If the numbers seem higher than expected, see “Total Gross Volume” on 1099-K Form to learn more about gross reporting.
If you’d like to learn more about the particular 1099 form you were issued, please check here: https://stripe.com/docs/connect/tax-reporting
